Wednesday, February 27, 2008Larry Norman is with the Lord Jesus Christ NowFebruary 25, 2008 Welcome home, Larry "This world is not my home. I'm just passin' through..." Larry Norman is one special person. I trust the information I get from solidrock.com, and last night the following message came my way via email: Hello everybody. Our friend and my wonderful brother Larry passed away at 2:45 Sunday morning. Kristin and I were with him, holding his hands and sitting in bed with him when his heart finally slowed to a stop. We spent this past week laughing, singing, and praying with him, and all the while he had us taking notes on new song ideas and instructions on how to continue his ministry and art. Several of you friends here got to come and visit with him in the last couple of weeks and were a great source of help and friendship to Larry. Ray Sievers, Derek Robertson, Mike Makinster, Matt Simmons, and a few more. Thank you guys. Larry appreciated your visits very much. And he greatly appreciated the thoughts, wishes, support and prayers that came from all of you Army members on a daily basis. Thank you for being part of his small circle of friends over the years. Yesterday afternoon he knew he was going to go home to God very soon and he dictated the following message to you while his friend Allen Fleming typed these words into Larry's computer: ________________________________ I feel like a prize in a box of cracker jacks with God's hand reaching down to pick me up. I have been under medical care for months. My wounds are getting bigger. I have trouble breathing. I am ready to fly home. My brother Charles is right, I wont be here much longer. I cant do anything about it. My heart is too weak. I want to say goodbye to everyone. In the past you have generously supported me with prayer and finance and we will probably still need financial help. My plan is to be buried in a simple pine box with some flowers inside. But still it will be costly because of funeral arrangement, transportation to the gravesite, entombment, coordination, legal papers etc. However money is not really what I need, I want to say I love you. I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort. There will be a funeral posted here on the website, in case some of you want to attend. We are not sure of the date when I will die. Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again. Goodbye, farewell, we'll meet again Somewhere beyond the sky. I pray that you will stay with God Goodbye, my friends, goodbye. -Larry ________________________________ I had the priviledge of knowing Larry. I only have two regrets regarding the man: one, when Leviticus plus John (Linn?) on guitar were rehearsing tunes for the following day's concert near Omaha, Nebraska. He had to take a phone call or something and left the rehearsal room. I should've jumped up and grabbed the microphone and tore through the song "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music?" I knew the words and my unskilled punk rock attack of the song surely would've put a smile on his face. I chickened out. Two, I just wish I would have called him more often. I so enjoyed the conversations I'd had with him. It was great to get "off-subject" and chat about Catholicism, the JFK assasination, or any number of things. I was thrilled to know that he liked my old punk band's songs, like "Mad At The Girls," etc. Now Larry is face to face with the one he has loved for so long. Regardless of anything you hear about the guy (he's actually made some enemies within Christian circles, believe it or not), he was resolute and rock solid consistent on one thing: his love for Jesus. His call for the church to remember the poor never seemed to waver, either. If you wanted to send flowers to his family or something, might I suggest something else: 1. go and spend 2 hours sitting next to a homeless person and just chatting (about the weather, his/her health, music, God, whatever ... just visiting) 2. donate some time or money to a homeless shelter near where you live 3. buy some groceries for a needy family and drop them off (maybe start by knocking on their door, saying, "Hi, I'm heading to the store. Is there anything you need? I'm glad to buy it for you...") 4. sponsor a child in a poor country. 5. then maybe send a note to his family via the solid rock records address, telling them what you did in lieu of flowers. I'm sure it would brighten their day. I can imagine that, at some point, Larry will shift from love and adoration and worship to curiousity. That might take a few thousand years, but at some point he'll ask the Lord some of the questions that he vocalized in his lyrics, his liner notes and in his talks. I am inspired with hope, but am also struck with fear, when I think about the call and the daunting task. But if U2 can be the soundtrack, count me in. If their rising crescendo of hope-filled anthems will accompany me on this journey, hot-dog, let's go! Thursday, December 20, 2007Dr Dan Cheatham/Awesome Prophecies for 20082008 Prophecies (Personal, National, International) Dr. Dan Cheatham Dec 19, 2007 Today, 19 December 2007, all afternoon the Spirit of God simply overwhelmed me and I felt myself slipping over into the Spirit realm as these words came forth concerning 2008. This was totally unplanned and unexpected on my part and to be quite frank, I have never functioned on this level before. But I felt the liberty and authority of God come on me and I believe the following thoughts are hot off the press of Heaven and straight from the heart of God for 2008. I submit these words for your own judgment and for your own pondering. One of the words for "prophesy" in the Hebrew is "nawbaw" which means "to bubble forth spontaneously by the Spirit of God" and/or "to predict." Another word for prophesy is "chazah" or "hazah" which means to see as in the form of a vision or dream. Most of the words below were received by "nawbaw", but a few were seen in closed vision form as I wrote. It was almost as if I was about to slip off into a trance, but I did not as my physical senses stayed in tact as I wrote. Some of the words below are simply exhortational and comforting in nature but others are actually predictional. Be blessed as you read and lets watch God bring them to pass in 2008! No doubt as you read them, you will see (as I felt) cycles and varied measures and levels of prophetic anointing. I simply submit these insights as possible blessings to you in preparation for 2008. "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches." Some of these things you may or may not understand or bear witness to. Some things, I am sure, are written to those to whom they are written, and others may not be able to receive them. 2008 is the year of Ezekiel 34:26 KJV: "And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. " GOD'S WORD FOR 2008: Ezekiel 34:26c KJV ...THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING! 2008 shall be a year swelling with the blessings of God on your life! You shall not be able to contain all the blessings God has for you in 2008. Your life will so brim with blessing that you will have to give some of the blessings away. God is going to pour out His blessings on you and your children in 2008! Isaiah 44:3c NLT - I will pour out my Spirit and my blessings on your children. Expect a fresh outpouring of the Spirit in 2008! I believe a new move of God is afoot which shall hit us beginning in 2008. Something BEAUTIFUL in 2008. Something BRAND NEW in 2008. Something BIG in 2008! Ready or not a new move of the Spirit is coming! When you see Israel attack her enemies, then shall you see the Church attack hers! The timing of events in Israel and the events in the Church at large are linked together. Everything is going to begin to speed up in 2008! Some hindrances to mass revival are going to be removed in 2008! Churches that have refused to back off the whole counsel of God, the Full Gospel of salvation, Spirit baptism, miracles and gifts, are going to begin to come into their own in 2008! Some churches that have relied too much on popular trends rather than abandoned reliance on the Spirit of God will begin to diminish in 2008! Pockets of miraculous activity and miracle testimonies will begin to be reported from uncelebrated places and unknown people in 2008! Certain controversial "celebs" will fall at the foot of the cross in 2008 and forever be changed to the dislike of some. Some Third World Christian Leaders will come to the forefront in 2008 and some American Leaders will fade from the limelight in 2008. God will burn revival into geographic locations that heretofore were unknown places. Longings, yearnings, and waitings shall begin to be fulfilled in 2008! Those shifted into place in 2007 shall begin to shine in their new assignments in 2008! Tons of surprise blessings that have been stored up and held up will suddenly burst forth on God's faithful people in 2008! In 2008 men of God will wield a greater measure of authority, and words that had previously dropped to the ground will begin to take place in front of people's eyes as men of God boldly speak out and take their place in God. Some heads of nations will come to Christ in 2008. New believers will mature quicker in 2008 than they had in previous years. Many believers who had fallen by the wayside because of discouragement or betrayal shall rise again in 2008, and once again take their places in the ranks of God's Army, fresh and free from their pasts. A fresh Army of Worshippers shall be raised up in 2008! 2008 will be the beginning of the end time harvest! 2008 will be a pivotal year on God's Eternal Calendar! 2008 will FEEL different than previous years to believers all over the planet. A fresh wind will begin to blow in 2008 that will simply be irresistable to anyone hungry for God. Reports shall be heard and read of children having open visions of Christ and some very young people will be used to prophesy and unleash creative things into churches, people and geography. There shall be several notable raisings of the dead reported and spoken of in 2008! Some older believers will be remarkably and sovereignly used by God in 2008! Tons and tons of Gospel literature shall be distributed amongst Muslims in 2008. Some Muslim figureheads will suddenly convert to Christ and share their testimonies internationally in 2008. God shall do some things in 2008 that divert people's attention from mere politics and entertainment. Some Christian leaders will be violently attacked and criticized from numerous sources, but they shall neither fall nor fail. Persecution shall increase wherever the devil can obtain a foothold but so will genuine revival at the same time! Some young female leaders will rise to the forefront in 2008. In 2008, there will be moments in church services where time will literally stand still; time will be frozen and the reality of eternity shall be felt by all. Many arrogant personalities will fall flat on their faces in 2008! In 2008 there shall be a new wind of revival hit America's jails and prisons as never before. God will tap some unlikely candidates for leadership prominence in 2008 that will dumbfound the naysayers. Children will be born in 2008 that will never see death! Strategically God will raise up young children who shall become teen prodigies in the Christian faith and shall shake entire subcultures for God. In 2008, certain Christian colleges and universities, and certain ministries shall suddenly come into the wealth they needed to fulfill their mandate from God. Revival shall happen and be heard of in 2008 from college campuses who have never experienced such. Christian teens will literally blitz entire cities and regions for Christ in 2008! Some tragedies will happen on a large scale in 2008 that will drive many people and politicians to get help from men of God and godly leaders. A scheduled calamity will be canceled by a Christian leader who leads people in repentance and prayer in 2008. Heads will roll among judges and attorneys in 2008 as God cleans house in many different ways. God will do some things that shock and awe everyone as to His goodness and mercy in 2008. Time will move quicker in 2008. Space will be compressed in 2008. Matter and resources will be less an obstacle in 2008. The economy will be like a roller coaster in 2008 but those whose hope and trust in God shall not waiver or succumb to fear, and shall prosper still. There will not be enough time in 2008 to accomplish everything you initially planned, but that which you do accomplish will have more eternal value than in years past. The expenditure of time will be a test for some in 2008. Curses shall roll off God's people like water off a duck's back in 2008, and blessings shall literally chase and overtake God's people as never before! There shall be many distractions and smokescreens from the devil in 2008, but God's people will receive more grace to focus and refocus yet again. There will be a miracle of God performed in 2008 that polarizes people as to their beliefs in the supernatural power of God. The doubters will disdain it as nothing; but the wise shall believe it and treasure it. Things delayed in previous years will suddenly come to fruition in 2008. Some things that only happened through much human effort will happen effortlessly by the grace and favor of God in 2008! Fallen Christian leaders shall rise again despite the scorning by some. Miracles of childbirth shall increase in 2008. Miracles of hearing shall increase in 2008! Miracles whereby diseases and disorders fall off people will increase in 2008 and be seen by many. Tiny rays of hope from heaven will break into the lives of despondent people and people who were heretofore crushed by depression will break out into joy and freedom in 2008! A miracle healing of a young child shall be reported in a widespread fashion in 2008. Tiny seeds of money given in previous years that had been accumulating and gestating over much time shall suddenly be harvested as bumpercrops of prosperity and resources in 2008. New hope shall pervade many downtrodden Christians and they shall be invigorated and energized once again in 2008. Many believers will rise up in 2008 and take their rightful places in God, in business, in companies and in society. Friendships that were not healthy will fade and fall by the wayside in 2008. Some men in high places will be seen for what they really are in 2008, as they seemingly go crazy with anxiety, insecurity, speak foolish words, and make poor choices that all can see. Time will validate many faithful believers in 2008. Some who have labored faithfully without much recognition will be validated and authenticated by God for all to see. A sense of Christ' soon coming return will be literally felt in the heart of many in 2008. A feeling of urgency and a sense of mission will be restored in the hearts of God's people in 2008! There shall be an event of earth shaking and shattering proportion that shall strike fear in the hearts of those who do not know the Lord in 2008. The media will falter and fumble with some end-time events that will occur in 2008 and totally misinterpret and dismiss the meaning of a geological event. Change shall be dramatic in 2008. A media company shall fold in 2008. Another company in whom many put their trust will also fold. The family unit will an area of intense cultural battle in 2008, but the family unit shall prevail after all is said and done. In 2008, stubborn bad habits and besetting sins shall be pealed off God's people with less effort and struggle than in previous years. 2008 shall be a year marked by personal milestones of overcoming! 2008 shall be a milestone year for many a believer! Once again "THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING" in 2008! Truly a Studio Session PlayerMerry Christmas from The Beat Producer for Jesus, I want everyone who reads this blog to pause for a moment and remember the real reason for this Christmas Season, and that is simply to celebrate the birth of our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I am thankful for the Father God sending His only Son the Lord Jesus to be born, live amongst us, to be crucified for my sins to be resurrected, and to ascend to the right hand of the Father to intercede for me. Without Jesus I as The Beat Producer would not have eternal life and probably no talent to play drums for Him. Well, everybody get your click tracks ready, The Beat Producer is going to purchase Sonor drums. The reason for Sonor is simple, since 1978(when I was 15) I have owned most if not all of the major brands of drums, because God has blessed me. When I listen to bands that have recorded using Sonor drums there is a sonic difference that can not only be heard but felt. Friday, November 30, 2007History is Repeating ItselfHello All, The Beat Producer for the Lord Jesus Christ is finally blogging. Today, November 30th, 2007 (once again, and once for all) is my last day at the Woodwind & Brasswind music store in South Bend, IN. This time I only lasted a year. From Nov 8th 2006 till' today. The first time I worked for them was from Mar 1st, 1999 to the 1st week of Feb 2006. I can honestly say that there are some good people who work there and have done so for years. I am leaving this time because the US Economy doesn't sustain a commissioned drum and percussion salesman. I start my brand new job this Monday Dec 3rd, 2007.
